UFA Provides Residents with Ways to Improve Urban Forest
Now residents throughout the District can access Urban Forestry Administration online to obtain more information on a variety of topics regarding trees. The UFA website provides residents with the common or scientific names of trees already planted in the city. Residents may also download a permit online to work on or plant a new street tree. Individuals interested in helping to improve DC's urban forest can consult the guidelines for planting, pruning, and removal of trees.
"We are excited to serve DC residents with quick and easy access to the forestation in their neighborhoods," said Chief Forester Mark Buscaino. "This new website will help city-dwellers beautify and maintain their streets and return DC's reputation as the City of Trees."
The UFA encourages residents to check back frequently as the website continues to grow along with the District's urban forest. Select from the topics below for more information.
